More than likely my version of the game wasn’t properly patched so I might be missing a thing or two. Jaheira has become a permanent spot in my party now and Kheldorn acted as what I call the “rotational spot.” However, little did I know that the Inquisitor could not use the Amulet of Power. Prior to rerolling, I decided on trying the 4 custom PC party with 2 NPCs. Before that happened though, I decided to reroll my party once again and want to talk a little about some ideas I had been experimenting with in Baldur’s Gate 2. I am having a repair guy come down to replace the motherboard, which I think has been going after a while (I thought it was the video card or memory), so hopefully I can get setup in a few days again on my gaming rig.

At least in the first half of the game. Before getting into something I’ve started up recently, let me just rant about how my Alienware just bit the big one today.

Deals obscene damage, but VERY fragile, though. Almost doesn't matter which NPCs you choose.įighter/Mage/Kensai is definitely a choice. Do the Holy Avenger quests, and you'll be able to tank, kill, and heal all in one. If you're playing with a full party, I'd go with a Paladin. Lots of frustration at low levels, though, while you're still trying to get your lone character's level above that of the foes you're fighting. I only brought in NPCs for their specific quests.

You level faster, but it's still a challenge because of being alone. Play solo AND with a level cap remover mod (there're a few out there), and you'll enjoy it. Add in a fierce THAC0, AC, and weapon proficiencies, and you rock the game. Thanks to the Berserker Rage (a bit diff than Barbarian Rage), and the Cleric spell Chaotic Commands, your character is pretty much immune to any mind control spells, and things that slow/immobilize you. I've played through BG2 maybe 10 times, with all different configs, and this was the most fun I had. Cleric/Berserker (a fighter subclass, I believe).
